Mango, Florida is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County. The population was 11,313 at the 2010 census, up from 8,842 at the 2000 census. The median income in Mango, FL is $36,469 and the median home value is $88,400.
Mango is located north of the geographic center of Hillsborough County. Thonotosassa, borders it to the north to the east by Seffner, to the south by Brandon, and to the west by East Lake-Orient Park. Interstate 4 forms the northern boundary of the CDP, and Interstate 75 is the western boundary. The main road through the center of Mango is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Downtown Tampa is 10 miles to the west, and Plant City is 12 miles to the east.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Mango CDP has a total area of 4.8 square miles, of which 4.7 square miles are land and 0.1 square miles, or 2.95%, are water. There were 3,289 households out of which 37.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.0% were married couples living together, 17.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. In the community of Mango, the median age was 33 years. The median income for a household in the community was $33,989, and the median income for a family was $37,818.
